About Cove Industries

Cove Industries is based in Farnborough, Hampshire, and comprises of two main companies and three subsidiaries that range is services from the supply of precision sheet metal work and PVC dip moulding to Fibre Optic transmission systems and quality finishing. As a leading supplier of over forty years experience into such high standard industries as the Ministry of Defence and Aerospace industries, Cove have built up an enviable and well deserved reputation for quality and service.

Taking its name from the original location in what was Cove village in the early 1960's, Cove grew up along side many of the now established businesses both past and present and those establishments, such as the Royal Aircraft Establishment (now Dera) that are sadly no longer active. From those days of localised subcontract engineering Cove now supply precision sheet metal work into a variety of industries nationwide.

No history of Cove Industries would be complete without mention of Monty Day. In the early 1950's Monty attended a seminar held by ICI who were promoting their new PVC moulding and coating material; Welvic, and from here he went on to start his own dip moulding business: M.D Plastics Ltd. Here he pioneered the then popular tap swirler of which CPL still hold some of the original tooling as well as examples of the swirler still in their packaging. Upon Monty's retirement his son, Gordon, took M.D.Plastics under the banner of Cove and Cove Plastics Ltd became sister company to Cove Industrial Enterprises Ltd. Monty had many friends in the business and it would not be wrong to add his name to the list of founding fathers of DIp Moulding the UK.
